I don't think this has been posted, but there is a 2-disc Collector's Edition of Miami Vice (the 2006 Michael Mann film) coming out in France in February. Here it is on Amazon France:

No info yet on features. I think I'll postpone getting Miami Vice until more information on this available. Looks goddamned slick:

Anyway, so this Collector's Edition has the cinema cut and Mann's Director's Cut with commentary? No other bonuses?

That kicks ass! Too bad it's already out of stock.

Actually...That would be incorrect. The article indicates (see above...Contenu de l'édition simple) that the double SE keeps the features from the single disc and adds the director's cut with a commentary.

Ah! Thanks for clarifying! My wife could help me with the French, but we've got our hands full with a 3-month old...
I think I'll use the 30 bucks I paid for AnyDVD and get this. No burnt-in French subs in the film or French dubbing on the extras, right?

Well, I do not work for the French distrib so I would not know what exactly the technical and regional limitations of this disc would be but, again, looking at what the article indicates it appears that Universal will NOT have forced French subs for the main feature as both English and French are noted as subtitle options. As to French dubbing on the extras...very unlikely!! I am certain they would appear with French subs but the audio will remain in English.

If there is any uncertainty here I would think that the Director's cut would be it as the French subs might appear as being player-generated. I still think that you would be safe to order and enjoy the presentation though.

I'm definitely getting this, unless a Region 1 Special Edition is announced. Pro-B, sorry to keep bugging you with this, can you recommend any English-language e-retailers with French DVDs? I don't think I can quite handle Amazon.fr.
