Un Coeur En Hiver - new koch lorber version better than R2 ?
is the new koch lorber version, supposedly remastered from HD, better than the r2 releases?
The review on digitallyobsessed seems to indicate good video/audio and proper NTSC but can anyone compre it with the current R2 versions?
Also, any word on a Nelly and Mr Arnaud re-release ? I've tried but failed to get my hands on the french r2 (unless my amazon france order turns up, unlikely given it's been clos to 2 mths).
cheers

For Nelly et Mr Arnaud get it from PriceMinister. Always ask the seller to confirm the specs.
The UK Un coeur en hiver is very nice and is on sale at the moment from Amazon here Really lovely film that.
Koch Lorber (and their Fox Lorber name) = waste of DVD space.

I viewed the R2 first-hand awhile back and decided to hold on to my vhs instead and wait for a better release. Preordered the Koch Lorber in the hope that it would be a vast improvement.
Good news on that front: DVDBeaver Comparison R2 vs. R1

I have the disc for review and while I am not done yet with the writing what I could tell you is that this might very well be Koch's disc of the year...the transfer is top notch with my only complaint: a bit of minor digital noise. Aside from that Koch get all around thumbs up

Neither of those screen grabs look particulaly attractive I have to say. Saying that you have to have the DVD in front of you to really decide.
If Koch-Lorber/Fox Lorber do offer a good DVD I'll take back what I said. It's taken them 9 years to get here but let's not nit pick

pro-b,
thanks for the recommendation.
One question, any idea which colour scheme is more accurate? I'd say the r2 looks artifically brightened from the beaver screenshots, but then again it could be deliberate.

Thinking back to when I saw this theatrically, I recall the color scheme being much closer to what's being represented here by Koch. Second Sights R2 has always seemed to me artifically bright compared to the theatrical showing I recall. The fact that Koch had DP Yves Angelo supervise the transfer in question lends credence to this.
