The Czech Republic's Oscar entry, Stesti, is what the French describe as comedie-dramatique about the life of a poor Czech family on the outskirts of the city where they life.

The Czech DVD is also English-friendly and could be ordered through www.DVDR.cz (I've used them twice...most recent order was Krev Zmizeleho and the disc came to Illinois for 8 days).
