Is "Red Sun" a legitimate distributor? [it appears not]

I bought a couple of Japanese films from a guy on ebay and they are distributed by "Red Sun". I watched one last night and the transfer was awful... DVD's were shrinked wrapped and even had stickers on the top but that's no guarantee in our days... So has anyone ever heard of "Red Sun"? I found their website:

https://www.redsundvd.com/

Red Sun DVD is a distributor and reseller of popular Asian films on DVD format. All our DVDs are NTSC all-region. This means that they are playable in any NTSC DVD player. If you live in the United States, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, or Hong Kong you should not have any problems playing our DVDs. If you live elsewhere, please confirm that you can play NTSC DVDs before ordering. We are a customer service oriented company that puts the customer first. We guarantee your satisfaction with the quality of our product, or your money back (less shipping costs). Please note, that this guarantees the physical quality of our product, not that you'll like the movie! Nobody can guarantee that! We also have a wholesale program for volume purchasers such as retail stores. If you have any questions, please contact us at...

I recall Red Sun as being described as bootleggers in other forums but someone else should confirm it.

Yes, I've heard of them and been told to stay away! People bought crap copies of Tom Yum Goong there...

Alright thanks. Lesson learned: Better pay for overpriced but quality Japanese releases than for suckass cheap bootleg releases...

Well,

LOL! He's one of the biggest bootleggers on the planet. AKA Stiller66 on e-bay. He's supported by HK Flix, who is in turn supported by this forum. Outside of Groundzero and Xenon, no other bootleg company has ruined the chance of more legit Asian film releases than this guy.

Stiller66 and REDSUN may be working together, but are not the same person. Stiller66 is on the East coast and REDSUN is out of Hawaii. REDSUN's stuff is bootleg, though you'll usually see he's pretty straightforward about the quality. He tells you his TOM YUNG GOONG is VCD quality, so people shouldn't complain.

I heard the quality was even worse than on the VCD (not surprising since it was probably made from a VCD) and I'm not so sure the site was informative about this back in December when people all over the planet were desperate for a subtitled version. A bit surprising that it hasn't been upgraded to "DVD quality" yet. lol But you're right; people shouldn't complain about quality when they buy from a site where it says "All-Region" everywhere, as well as this on their contact page:

If you represent a USA based video distributor and own the exclusive copyright to one of the films we carry, please contact us at: [email protected] or fax to: 800-454-8102 so we can immediately remove the title(s) from our web site. We will honor your request immediately as we have no wish to infringe on your copyright.

Um...

Stiller66 and REDSUN are run by the same person. He has a partner, but there is one person behind the whole thing.

Sounds nefarious.

Indeed. I can't believe this thread has gone on as long as it has.

Oh CRAP. I got a dvd through Amazon Marketplace called Zebraman. It's a Takashi Miike sentai film. Anyway, I should have been wary since it wasn't available at any online retailers but I assumed it's just OOP or something since Miike films aren't very popular. This is definitely a bootleg but I don't know what to do. I think I threw away the box it came in. Will that matter? Will Amazon Marketplace refund me? This is the first time I ever got something through Amazon Marketplace.....
