Er, what REGION is that? Certainly not R1

With the price being in pounds, the link going to amazon.co.uk, I'm going to assume it's region 2 PAL, from UK (Great Britain).

Looks like this may be a misprice too, as it's the same price for just Nightmare on Elm Street 1 as well. Hopefully amazon will honor it for those people that don't have this yet, or don't want to wait for the rerelease that's coming up (at least for the first film).

Says region 2 PAL in the description--otherwise, it's a great deal. As I recently picked this set up from Buy.com for $30 after $5 coupon, I'm content with that.

Jtnguyen12 03-14-06 02:49 PM

$12 is STEAL DEAL but my DVD Player can't play region 2. I'll jump on it if region 0 or 1 ;)

tomfish 03-14-06 03:06 PM

does anyone have a picture of the actual box? i've seen the region 1 box, and it looks nice, but never seen the region 2 box is it similar? i'm going to guess its just a box that holds seven amarays?

Really? Shipping to the US was only another £1.50?

It's interesting--if you actually add it to your cart and go through the checkout process, the price changes from £6.97 to £5.93, plus £3.08 for shipping. So converted, it's a little over $15 total. But again, it's region 2, so that kills it for me.

They back out the VAT (tax), so you're not actually paying 6.97. But their overseas shipping price is very reasonable. I'd look to see if you can find any more bargains, seeing as the shipping won't cost much extra... Blake's 7 is one suggestion, seeing as it may never be available here...

TheNightFlier 03-14-06 04:32 PM

Gave it a shot, hopefully they honor the price.

kenbenobi 03-14-06 04:39 PM

A few other bargain suggestions: ALL X-Files seasons are 11.04 each (they show as 12.97 but are 11.04 after backing out the tax)... I paid 6.04 to ship all 4 of my big heavy box sets overseas, so that ain't bad... I know they are slowing dropping in price here, but I only needed 8 and 9, and those won't drop for a while. Also, the UK ones are packaged like the US ones. I'd like mine to all be in digipaks, with all the extra features...

Looks like this thread is being deported to the International Forum, which most of us would never read...

I hope these aren't the edited versions.

Same versions of each film as on the Region 1 set.

No idea how the transfers compare though. The 3D sequence in Freddy's Dead hasn't been transfered as 3D and there are no glasses in the box either.

inDefiance 03-15-06 05:49 AM

..shows at 16.97 Pounds now ... price corrected ... too late ....

That's sad. The International Forum is about ALL I read here. It's so much fun.

What's this?

kenbenobi 03-15-06 03:10 PM

Any cancellations on these? My 3rd rock got cancelled... But my X-Files sets shipped.

None, AFAiK. my dispatch estimate is 23 Mar 2006 - 30 Mar 2006, so anything could happen between now & then. So far, so good.

koolgrap 03-22-06 10:58 AM

i read in another community that this set has been shipped
so i'm looking forward to get my dvd-set shipped to

sarah99 03-25-06 03:21 AM

Mine has arrived
It's a book style boxset (like the UK Alien Quadrilogy boxset) not a digipak
but it does come with a nice 40 page booklet.

RaMMaR 03-25-06 03:51 AM

Mine shipped today. Hopefully it and my other order will leave customs unscathed, unlike the debacle w/ the L&H boxed set(s).

sarah99 03-25-06 04:05 AM

and the bad news is .............

http://www.therewindforums.co.uk/for...?p=67850#67850

Looks to me like they just added two extra disks to the original UK 5 disk boxset, and didn't bother to add any of the Documentary Vignettes. It's missing loads of stuff from the first 5 disks.

SkullOrchard 03-25-06 11:54 AM

Mine shipped too.
