Need recommendations for CDJapan and Yesasia (have coupons).

Well, I've got a few coupons burning a hole in my virtual pocket as I try to get a stack of stuff lined up to pick up when I go home on leave next month. Already got a number of new movies to see but I need to finish up several more coupons.

Neither of these stores seem like an issue (haven't been in the past) but I'm drawing a blank on what to look for at a reasonable price that's a little "different".

CDJapan: got a 500 yen coupon and IIRC about 500y saved up in credit as well. I'm not too picky about it being either Japanese or R2 Japan exclusive, but at the moment I can't think of too many and I don't feel like going down my entire "wants" list in Dvdcompare.net. Any good suggestions for recent releases (or even classics) that are better than the R1 equivalents? Any foreign flicks need english subs on at least the main feature. (fwiw, my previous cdjapan orders have included the Teshigahara box set, the mad max box set, survive style 5+, etc.).

Yesasia: $5 coupon here. This one should be easier given the wider selection -- however my last order was a little disappointing since they wouldn't let me order the R3 HK SE Kung Fu Hustle. Any recommendations on other recent Korean/Japanese/HK flicks to keep an eye out for? -- really waiting to see SPL.

Out of curiosity, has Bayside Shakedown been released outside Japan at all? That one just came to mind and I seem to recall reading good things about it.

ah well, gotta hit the sack now.
thanks.

Well, I can definitely recommend Blade R2 Japan dts. It is full-bitrate and the sound is leeps and bounds above the R1 version.

Also:
Transporter R2 Japan (dts-ES & uncut)
Total Recall R2 Japan (full bitrate dts)

If you liked BAYSIDE SHAKEDOWN, NEGOTIATOR MASHITA MASAYOSHI has just released R2.

Believe I read a review of that one, but I still haven't even seen Bayside Shakedown. I can't find subtitled version of the first movie on DVD although everyone seems to have the sequel.

Any further suggestions for JPN exclusive DVDs to look for (Japanese w/subs or others)? I checked out the "old" thread about non-region 1 exclusives but didn't see anything too current.

Survive Style 5+ (Japanese comedy)
Les Fils Du Vent (not Japanese but a decent action fighter with the Yamakasi troupe)
