wuxia puppets
 

Does anyone know of a movie(s) with puppets or marionettes in old wuxia style kung-fu type moves? I was at an Alamo Drafthouse that showed a clip of some puppets flying around everywhere and kicking each others asses, complete with cheesy "whoosh" and "pow" sound effects. I'd love to get ahold of this.

Legend of the Sacred Stone (2000). There is no official uncut English-subbed release that I am aware of. There is an offical un-subbed release available via Asian e-tailers (I don't recall if it was R3 or R0, and I don't recall if it was cut or uncut).

The Korean and Japanese releases are both cut by about 15 minutes and feature no English subs, as mentioned above.

The Taiwanese version is the uncut one. It also has no English subs, and it's been out-of-print for a while.

Although not what you were looking for, Team America has a couple of kung-fu fight scenes also.

You can find LEGEND OF THE SACRED STONE anywhere in non-corporate DVD stores and online with English subtitles, Anamorphic video, and DD 5.1 Taiwanese...It's a fine bootleg though...

Anytime anyone wants me to show them the most awesome fight scene ever, I'll skip past the Hero, Ong-Bak, Flying Dagger shit and go straight for that scene in Team America. :rolleyes:
