any chance of a R1 release of the Phantasm sphere? otherwise, i'll have to get the R2. btw, the first Phantasm is a classic -- how could you not like it? (rhetorical)

Yes, I'm surprised at the dislike for the first movie. Yeah, it's b-movie fare, but 'crap'? C'mon! I thought it was the best one.

well, it is too bad it is plastic, but i may still have to get and maybe give the first one another chance. it was just so cheesy and bad acting and in no way horrifying which is what i hope to get out of these even for just a moment.

There will never be a R1 release of all the Phantasm movies, they are all owned by different studios as far as I can tell.

The first is still my favorite.

It doesn't look as bad as it sounds. See the now locked phantasm-sphere threads for actual pics.

Only thing I don't like is the base. I wish it was sturdier.

The Kung Fu Hustle set is very nice. Is that book signed? Any more details on the size of the figure, etc? It looks like a very nice price for the contents.

Yet another nice Kung Fu Hustle... looks like this movie is becoming another Terminator with endless Limited(?) editions to capitalize on.

What's in that Complete Peanuts box set? All the movies or the brief TV series?

The thing with JSDVD is that they ship via EMS so the cost is more.

Regarding how they are, to be honest I haven't heard a bad thing about them.

Obviously certain Japanese/Korean and HK discs can be found cheaper at http://www.play-asia.com, http:/www.amazon.jp.co and the like. But for the rare and hard to find box sets, they are a great place.

Anyone order from JSDVD yet?? I'd like to know what your experience was when you dealt with them! There are some Christmas gifts I'd like to buy from there but I want to make sure they are a good dealer.

I've ordered from them before, and my experiences have been pleasent. The shipping is fast, and trackable, if expensive. Their checkout is a bit odd, in that you place your order, pay for the items first, they assemble it and package it, and then they send you a link for the shipping charge. The good thing is it makes the shipping charge specific to your particular box's weight, but it does add an extra step.

Also, once one of my orders was held up a few weeks because one of my items was on order. I probably could've cancelled that one item, but I was willing to wait. I don't think this is a usual occurrence though.
