regional spy: Hero: Director's Cut Premium Edition (Germany 07/07)

DavisDVD:

Highlight Film of Germany will release a limited Hero: Director's Cut Premium Edition on July 7th. This three-disc set will present the Jet Li film (now 10 minutes longer) in anamorphic widescreen, with German & Mandarin Dolby Digital 5.1 and German DTS Surround. Extras on the second disc will include a three-hour making-of documentary, a behind-the-scenes featurette, "Hero Special" feature, storyboards, interviews with the cast & crew, press conference footage, text essays on historical backgrounds and the production, sword fight sequences and more. Over on disc three - and this one's a doozy - you'll find the extended edition of the film presented in Windows Media HD-DVD. Nice! Retail is around 25 Euros.
Does anyone know if this is the same cut as the "Extended Edition" version? Also, do you think it will have English subtitles?

It is an extreme rarity if a German distrib provides English subs for a German release...let alone foreign film.

I'm betting that the disc is mastered from the same source as the crappy Guan Dong Face "Extended Edition" disc as well, even the WM9 version. I have the extended cut on DVD, EVD, and HVD, and it looks like ass on all three formats.

The 3-hour documentary is no doubt the "Cause" doc found (without subtitles) on the Korean Ultimate Edition. An edited 1-hour cut of this is also included (again without subtitles) on the GDFace extended DVD.
