Is this a good buy ( Almodavar boxset, UK ) ?
I was looking to buy the Lukas Moodysson boxset when i noticed this one
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...454714-0763665
Is this a good buy (transfer, extras etc.) ? . I did a search with no results. I love Almodovar films yet don't own any of them , the price is very tempting ...
Any/All input is welcome. Thanks

All of these titles are available in R1 and are cheaper here. Not sure about differences in extras though.

Bad Education - 20.64 (DDD)
Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down - 20.99 ( DVD Empire)
Live Flesh- 9.12 (DDD)
All About My Mother - 22.06 (DDD)
Talk To Her - 20.34 ( DDD)
Total - 93.15 $ ( excluding shipping )
From amazon.co.uk , I get it for 40.52 GBP ( ~ 75 $ Shipped with no VAT) . Not sure of the transfer or extras, though I am assuming european movies generally receive bad R1 treatment.

Tie Me Up Tie Me Down appears to be OOP in R1 now and I was assuming 2-3 of these had already had R1 price reductions (only Live Flesh has a low list price). With that in mind the UK set is looking like a good deal.

Is there any good place to get most of Almodovars films?
The ones I really want are:
Matador
Law of Desire
High Heels
Or should I just wait cuz of the news that Almodovar formed his new video company and will be distributing most of his films himself?

Matador, Kika, and some of his earlier films are later this year being issued in a new boxset in the UK. (the UK Law of Desire disc has an average PQ). I would still wait though as many of them are NOT restored and up to the standards they deserve. My advise (if it should matter to you)-wait!!

Thank you! I'll wait. So should I wait for the boxset or wait until something better comes along? Is the boxset just a rerelease of the older discs?
Have Kika already.

Neitzl: I would wait and see if something better comes out (better than the boxset). As I mentioned above I don't think that the current transfers for Kika and Laws of Desire are good enough....but let's see what this UK set will look like.
