Naked (Mike Leigh) French release 30 May
Looks like we're getting a quality release of this film from France Nice price.
The only spec I've found so far is:
Rencontre avec le réalisateur
Nanlyse du film par Sébastien Ors
There's already a R0 Australian disc but it's poor
I'm sure someone menitoned an August release in Holland. Can't find much info on that alas.
One of my all-time fav films. Classic.

Just a note: there are strong indications that Criterion may be releasing this on DVD, presumably with all their outstanding LD supplements carried over. It might be worth holding out on the French edition.

Strong Indications?
Disco Stu's info was pretty vague, and written over a year ago.
I would love to see a criterion or nl DVD, but i think i will go for the French version-if I can find out if it is 16x9 WS or not

OK, just had a quick look at my disc.
Region 0, anamorphic, DD2.0 English and no forced subs. Image is dark and grainy and that's how I remember it in the cinema. Rather 'filmic' looking too which I like.
Extras include an English language sofa-based interview with Leigh lasting 22mins. I only had a quick browse but it may be very slighlty out of synch. Film is fine though.
Very pleased to see the correct framing and look for the film on DVD.

hmmmm....well, like in Germany, the price of postage can far exceed the cost of the disc.
I realise that buying a bunch of discs would stretch the costs out, but there is little else I need from there.
perhaps a 'group buy' to cut the costs?

I went to the last page before "submit order" and it came to about 30 Euro -about $35-too rich for me for one disc.
I did gang up an order from Amazon.uk over to .de, and this spread the cost out to only $3.00USD more than UK.
once youre in with the 15 Euro main postage-it increases by only 1euro per item

1.can you refuse it and let amazon pay the return postage-and get a refund?
2. though he is completely trustworthy-ill still believe it when i see it.
though, in New Lines defense they DID release THE RAPTURE last summer-a small contoversial film with no audience to speak of..
