Chronicles Of Riddick DTS R3 Thailand: Anamorphic???

Okay, so I did some digging and found out that this was full bitrate dts in Thailand. According to this site, it states the dvd is anamorphic. However, according to 2 different stores from Thailand I have looked at, it states it is just widescreen.

http://www.ethaicd.com/show.php?pid=16305
http://www.amornmovie.com/shop/home/...ct=00000003228

Now, I have emailed both to see if in fact they are anamorphic but eThaiCD didn't seem to know and I haven't heard back from Amorn Movie (who is the distributor that eThaiCD most likely contacted). I have also contacted the review site to see if they have a scan of back cover for the Thailand dvd and I have yet to receive a response.

So.... this begs the questions...is it anamorphic or not? Any help would be appreciated.

Fantastic! Thank you. For $14.95 and full bitrate, I gotta buy it.

I seriously doubt that it's full bitrate. Especially when there is a dts track, 2 DD 5.1 tracks, and extras all on one disc. There would be no room for a full bitrate dts track.

Well, according to the first link above, it states it is full bitrate.

It must be on two discs then, and not one. Assuming that link is providing good information.

You'll have to let us know when you get it.

But is it the director's cut or the US theatrical cut? Was the director's cut shown overseas?

I think it's possible....

I believe Sleepy Hollow (R2, Japan) has a FB DTS track, Jpn DD5.1 and Eng DD5.1 all on one DVD.

The R2 Sleepy Hollow disc has a DD 5.1 English and a 2.0 Japanese, and no extras, or maybe just a trailer.

The Thai Chronicles disc is supposed to have two DD 5.1 tracks and a bunch of extras, so if it really is just one disc, then I don't think it's possible.

Also, the Chronicles disc is not filled at all. It doesn't have much at all compared to the R1. And it is not the DC, but the TC which is fine by me. I am just getting it for the sound anyway.

Bill,

Who did you end up placing your order with? I may end up buying this version.

I also believe The Core, Region 2 Japan has:

- Full-BitRate DTS, Englsih
- DD 5.1, English
- DD 5.1, Japan

I'll check my FB DTS dvds to make sure.

Dave, I went with eThaicd.com

I love the free shipping they have.

And Dave, the Core is full bitrate as well.

It's perfectly possible to put all that much onto 1 disc. It just isn't a good idea. If you really wanted to, you could cram several full-rate DTS tracks, a dozen DD 5.1 tracks, and 16 hours of content onto 1 disc, so long as having atrocious sub-VCD picture quality doesn't bother you.

I thought it had more extras, but maybe not. I would think it will have to have a lower video bitrate to allow for everything else, but if you just want it for the sound, it should be good.

I hope it is full bitrate!

Received my order very quickly from Ethaicd.com . Hell, my order from there came quicker than something from Koreandvds.com that I ordered 2 days prior. I'll post info on the disc soon.

The disc is anamorphic. I have yet to check to see if it is in fact full bitrate but I am sure it is. Great deal for $14.95.
