Anyone have the R2 Japan LIFEFORCE...?
is it 16:9 enhanced? PQ?
five different sites say 5 different things: 16x9, "squeezed" and 4:3 letterbox (2.35) Its due out at the end of June (limited) for just $9.00-Y999 yen
Anyone have the German?
it *IS* anamorphic, but is the shorter version-PQ?

so you are confirming this via experience, rather than word of mouth?-im not doubting you so much as its just that a fair amount of Japanese sites list it as "Squeeze" or 16:9-while others claim its flat letterbox. I would love to know for sure;
The German edition is confirmed 16:9-

It's not 16:9. I bought the original pressing and it's the same except for the cover art.
CD Japan lists it as "Cinemascope" which is what they (sometimes at least) designate 4:3 widescreen movies as (as opposed to anamorphic).
That's interesting that the abbreviated theatrical cut is out anamorphically in Germany -- the theatrical cut isn't available in too many areas. I prefer the 118 min. version, but there IS that shot of the zombie rummaging around in the trash in the theatrical cut that's worth having

Also in Japanese terminology, "Vista" means 1.85:1 and "TV" means 4:3.

"Cinemascope" or "Scope" designates a 2.35:1 aspect ratio but has nothing to do with whether the disc is anamorphically enhanced or not. "Squeeze" is the term the Japanese use to refer to anamorphic enhancement. Cinemascope and Squeeze can be used together for an anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 picture.

OK...
anyway I had a link to DVD Times UK, I think, a while back that showed a "TBA" LIFEFORCE SE-2disc-but an "on hold" was labeled next to it. Ill try to find it.
I would like an anamorphic transfer of both the long and short verion, and "The Making of Lifeforce" which I used to have on Laserdisc.
