i bought it and thought it was a decent release.
the video transfer was identical to the korean edition, the audio was nice and the whole movie was on one disc so it didn't need to be spread towards two discs. i'm settled with the hong kong release of taegukgi.

How was the DTS? (does it sound better than the DD5.1?) I already have the Korean version and I've been thinking about getting the HK or Japan version for the DTS, but I'll pass if there's a neglible difference.

got the korean release and the packaging is great.. IMHO, the film, i must say, is disappointing... method acting, tight shots, unrealistic war sequences, internal organs showing for the longest time.. etc..
what more do we need to see in the extended edition?
i was so disappointed.
but the packaging of the korean release is a treasure... buy it for the packaging...
oh sorry OT.. got carried away..

got the HK today. packaging and artwork / discs look nice. not watched it : major problem this, as too many things in such a short space of time means not getting round to things immediately (often)... so it could be a while before i watch it. having said that : r-point and spider forest also winging their way to me now...

i find it hard to beleive that a 6 channel dts soundtrack and a 3 hour film cut crammed on one disc could possibly be the same quality as the korean release spread over 2

considering that it isn't a three hour movie, it might be possible.
