Well I always buy from YesAsia regardless of price, simply because they do re-shipping from within Canada which means no cutsoms charges/taxes/handling fees.

In regards to:
The Adventures of Iron P***y, Blissfully Yours and Tropical Malady where did you get these and what are the specs of these discs?

rampo 01-06-05 02:04 PM

I've ordered all 3 from www.ethaicd.com. They are all PAL and have english subtitles. Iron P and Tropical Malady are Zone 3 only and widescreen; Blissfully Yours is all zone.

If that's the CineMasia release, I think you'll be disappointed in the video quality. I know I was when I saw it. I'm waiting to see a review of the Palm Pictures release due next month before deciding between the R1 and R2 (Artifical Eye) release.

Yeah, it's the Cinemasia release of Last Life in the Universe. The transfer is a bit lacking (I noticed some vertical static running through the picture) but the movie itself didn't do a lot for me. The characters just weren't developed enough. It had potential, but it just wasn't executed very well.

What is the OAR of this film? Most e-tailers I checked have the upcoming R1 release listed as 1:33 Full-Frame. Also, the studio is sometimes listed as Palm Pictures and other times as Universal Music. What's up with that?

pat00139 01-11-05 10:04 AM

cine, be careful with the Kurosawa releases. Those three have English subs, but movies that weren't released in the US (Sugata Sanchiro, Drunken Angel) don't have them. It really annoyed me because I can't find those movies anywhere.
