I love the DVD coverart.

Hated the plastic case that pretty much attacted fingerprints.

The korean release is also an 8disc set

Unfortunately... it was halted on its release then they re-released it in a 6-disc set

I didn't notice this 8 disc set , it looked better than the 6 disc set to me.

To Clear: 8disc Was Not Released , it was halted due to copyright issue.. Instead Korea repackaged it to a 6disc set

Therefore the only best and legitimate "8" disc set would be the HK Megastar (Media Asia) Limited to 3,000 Set (which other members here accused it as a bootleg)

The quality of the combined edit of the films has been questioned recently, with some calling it crudely edited. It apparently spoils certain events before they happen due to the inclusion of certain intertitles.

The new US R1 set isn't without its flaws either though, since apparently the disc for the first film contains inaccurate subtitles.
Thanks for the link. I have the Media Asia R0 Infernal Affairs I and was debating to either purchase the Dragon Dynasty boxset for part II and III or to look for the Media Asia versions.

I decided to go with the Media Asia versions especially with the 5 hour cut.

If you could have played PAL, then the best bet was the UK DVDs of the trilogy.

If a big reason for you buying that set was for the 5 hour cut, I'm sorry to say that was a bad decision. The 5 hour cut is just bad bad bad....

Why get PAL and endure the unneccessary 4% speed up?

Get the DDD House 6 disc box, or the individual titles from CDWow!

Because the UK discs have the best English translations for the films on the market and have almost all the extras of all of the films subtitled.

have you watched the ones you got from cdwow? i just got done watching part 1 and i can't believe how short the subtitles were staying on the screen. some full sentences were up less than a second. very disappointing.

I just found this at Ameoba Music in Hollywood for $45!! All 8 discs, notebook & case in great condition!! This is one set I never thought I'd see in person let alone for an affordable price.

Just the one. It was catty-corner to their Other Region section. I totally missed it the first two times I walked by.

Re: Infernal Affairs Trilogy Boxset

the remastered korean 3-disc set gets a reissue very soon.

http://www.k2dvd.com/shop/p_detail.a...e=Comedy/Drama

this retailer's site is produced by those that did dvdfromkorea, but the company's someone elses property, so it's possible to lower the value that will be declared as with that other site.

i've not used them, no. there was a discussion at empire's forums, people trying to find an alternative source to dvdfromkorea.com (now it's gone) and this site was mentioned... a few have tried it, and subsequently found it to be very fast and reliable. couldn't predict the cost of shipping on a set this big, but i had this set when it was first issued, and i suspect i paid something like $15; you'll have to try processing an order to see what the total comes out like, taking into account how the exchange rate has dropped away.

you can get the trilogy on BD of course, $80 inc post and duty at yesasia, or $66+ shipping at dddhouse.com

Re: Infernal Affairs Trilogy Boxset

SO, if someone wanted to sell an absolutely legitimate, sealed copy of the 8 disc Kam and Ronson Media Star box set, which site would be best? And how much is this set selling for in collector's circles?

Ugh....so jealous. The 8 Disc Set I presume?

How are people letting the set go for so cheap?

Re: Infernal Affairs Trilogy Boxset

8 disc indeed. I had to read the description 5 or 6 times to makes sure that I saw the price and details correctly. Even after I sent payment I went back and read it because it seemed so cheap. I'm a trusting sort.
