I just used the form on their site under "Contact Us" to send them a note (making sure to enter my order number) and I received a reply within 24 hrs. They sent out a new copy within a couple of days.

Thanks, Ralph! I'll try the "contact us" option if I don't hear back from them by tomorrow.

Chalk me up as another to get a copy of a defective 2-disc HOFD from cd-wow. I wrote to cd-wow and got a reply within an hour! A replacement should be sent shortly. I must admit though, that I am curious about the quality of the Starmax release coming next week....

Yeah. Exactly the same. RATS! I need to get it replaced, now, I guess.

I received a copy of the Limited Edition yesterday from CD-Wow. No glitches! The DVD plays all the way through, thankfully. However, I now have two (possibly three) copies of the 2-disc version to ship back.

Starmax release is delayed till February 2nd. Just got an e-mail from DVDfromKorea. I guess we will have to wait a bit longer.

So is it only the CDWOW shipments of the 2 DVD of HOFD that have glitches? Seems pretty odd that no others would be bad. From the sounds of it though, most in the thread ordered from CDWOW.

As a follow up, I contacted CD-WOW via their "contact us" link and they say they will ship out another copy and to return the defective one.

Do they send out a "it has shipped" email?

Has anyone here received a copy that is NOT defective from this place?

I did read of several who got stung twice. AND-- Can we tell if it's defective only by looking at the outside or do we have to try it out?

Thanks

I got my first HOFD DVD replacement from CD-Wow today and it's not defective. I had to check it in the machine. The sets should be fine from now on.

Just received my 2-disc Edko version from DDD House today. Watched it tonight and it played flawlessly and the quality of the video is excellent, in my opinion. The DTS sound track is very good too.

Is yours the first non CD-WOW order to be from the "bad batch"?

(Just following up on an earlier post about replacements... my email to the help desk was responded to a little more than 24-hours later and they said that a replacement disc would be mailed out ASAP. So far, very responsive and good service. I hope to have the disc soon!)

I am not sure if mine is the first. I also do not know how dddhouse is going to handle this. Out of the many dvds I have bought from them this is the first I will need to get a replacement disc for. I understand they want you to mail the disc back on your dime, and then they will send a replacement, but I sure hate having to eat 5 bucks shipping. I wonder if they will let me just mail back the first dvd in the set, so shipping will be less?

I had a problem with Twins Effect when I ordered it from them. After sending a few more emails back and forth, they agreed to having me keep/throw out my old set, and they sent me a new one, free of charge. It's worth a shot.

My replacement copy from the WOW is good, and it was mailed on Jan 14. If you had one shipped on or after that date you should be good!

So is everyone happy with the A/V quality of the R3 2-DVD release of HOFD? Is the price roughly $20 US?
