Le Samourai Russian DVD!
I saw this R5 DVD in xploitedcinema.com. The spec looks the same with French DVD, though missing photo gallery and perhaps other minor items. But the price is lower, too. Anyone got this and would like to share their thoughts in this forum?

a few questions...
which release is better? TF1 or René Château? The only site I could find it on is dvdshoppingcenter.com, they have the René Château release but they say it doesn't have English subs. I thought it did have subs, can anyone confirm if it does or not?
And do you mean the TF1 release is only $14? Where could I find it for that price?
Thanks.

The TF1 is the René Château release.
There is only one French disc and that has English subtitles and a very impressive transfer. Review here
The disc has been freely available in several places but it has gotten a bit rare in the last month or so. www.cinestore.com had it at a great price just a few weeks ago.

Thanks. I didn't realize they're the same release. DVDaficionado has 2 listings with different cover art pics. One says TF1 and the other René Château
And thanks for the link, welb25. I'll probably get it from that site. A while ago I was actually told the disc is OOP.

Yes, there was another cover years ago. Same disc AFAIK.
The direct link to Cinestore is here
It's part of a great René Château offer (€17 each) where you get a really good saving if you buy 3 items.
Offer ends 30 September. Unfortunately the 'buy' button has disappeared again. It was there last week, but I'm assuming they don't have stock. Try again in a few days.

It took them about 2 weeks to deliver but I'm fine with waiting.

When it comes to Russian DVDs nothing is 100% "confirmed". These people for example use the same dvds you would find at Ozon...however they have some very early titles (brand new) which given the past history (and present) of the DVD/CD market in Russia I would be very careful...or at least always question their origin.
Typically they tend to copy foreign releases by adding Russian dubs and subs.

The reason I asked about this is merely concerning price. Well, I live in Indonesia, and most of online stores in the world don't like to accept credit card from here. My fav.store, xploitedcinema.com offers steep price for French release, if I have to source from direct online store, I wonder if they are willng to accept Indonesian CC? I couldn't speak French either...
