Spider-Man, Japan style!

Here's the Spider-man DVDs I wanna get:

http://www.toei-video.co.jp/DVD/sp21/spiderman.html

It's a vintage Spider-man TV show from Japan that has absolutely nothing to do with the comic, but on the other hand has a kick ass giant robot named Leoparodon. I've seen a couple "grey market" tapes of these in the past, and they were a blast to watch. I guess due to the popularity of the Spider-man films, Toei has decided to release the entire run on DVD. No English subs, and 45,000 yen! I would love to get this, but sanity tells me "No!"

Yeah, there was a couple American made-for-TV films made around the same time. Kinda lame though.

I saw a TV program promoting Spider-man 2 and one of the guest was telling how he waited for the big Mechanical robots to appear!

I've actually seen a couple episodes of this as well... it was pretty entertaining, but I couldn't see spending that kind of dough on the entire set.

If this had English Subs I would be all over it like Rosie O'Donnel on Lindsay Lohan

Check out the Henshin Hall of Fame for more info on the series (near bottom of page). It's scary how much info this guy knows about these Henshin-type heroes....

Uh, 45,000 yen? My evil internet sources tell me that's over $400.

I probably wouldn't consider this unless it had English subs and was less than $60 I think, but it does look interesting. $400 though? Yikes.

It's scary to know that I had most of the toys this guy has, but I have no idea what happened to them over the years. Especially my Kikaida trading cards

i used to have a bunch of Kikaida & 01 wall scrolls (along w/ Diamond Eye, Zaboga, and a few Kamen Riders). i even had a large poster of Rainbowman w/ all his forms/aspects behind him. i remember placing all of them in a box for safekeeping - unfortunately, i can't remember what happened to the friggen' box...!
