Has Anyone Experienced Trouble w/ the Hero Ultimate Edition?
Well, I recently installed DVD Region Killer on my computer after my dvd drive ran out of times it could switch regions.
Anyways, I tried to watch the copy of the Hero Ultimate Edition that I recieved from DVDAsian.com the other day, however, it wouldn't play. It would play some brief intro, and then the computer would slow up severly until I closed the player.
I have been able to play Oldboy (Region 3), along with two PAL discs (region 2), and they've all played fine, yet Hero, the one I want to watch the most, isn't playing.
Could it be a defect?
Has anyone else had the same problem?

In order to know if the DVD is defective or not, try scanning it with NERO CD Speed. The prog tests vob files and conducts the DVD surface scan. If there are any mastering (i.e. critical) errors, you will see it.
to save such problems : dont watch movies on anything but a multiregion dvd player and tv (i.e not a computer)

ok
seriously : the only time ive seen anything like this happen the disc was RCE (region code encrypted) so instead of "region-free" any player really needs to be "multi-region"...

There are things like libdvdread that play all region disks on a PC without switching regions in the drive's firmware. http://videolan.org has a free player called vlc that uses libdvdread but I don't know how well it works on Windows. It may be more of a pain than it is worth, but if you're running Mac OSX then vlc is a very good player.

well, whatever... but with a DVD release like this one, I suggest using WinDVD 6 and not fooling around with amateur players No offense.

I have the Korean Hero Ultimate Edition, and have not had any trouble with it (except for it not being the longer version, and that the picture quality isn't as good as my Japanese set).
I've checked all three discs on my Meridian G91 standalone dvd-player, the feature disc also with both ATI Dvd-player 9.x and WinDVd 6 (for screencaps/comparision purposes).
