Malata-393A's Performance?

I'm considering getting a Malata-393A as a transportable region-free DVD player (because of its compact size and inexpensive price) and would appreciate any feedback on its performance including in particular reliability.

Thanks.

I haven't used on but I have a 520 and love it. The reviews on the 393A seem good and like you say, if the size and price are important I don't see how you could go wrong. Malata reliability and service are pretty good - there was a heat problem with the 996, and the 520 needs tweeking, but their other new stuff seems to have fixed things.

I'm thinking about picking on of these up myself. I currently use a Toshiba SD4900, cheap and easy to use, but I'm noticing jitters on some movies...as well as some ghosting and combing.

It looks like the Malata holds up well, check out this review.
