Take My Eyes (Te doy mis ojos) Top Winner 6 Goya Awards

This year's winner of 6 Goya Awards (the Spanish Oscars) Take My Eyes (Te doy mis ojos) is about to be released on June 26 in Spain. The dvd is set to offer English subs and the follwing extras-

Interactive Menus,
Scene Access,
Trailer,
Deleted scenes,
Notes of Director,
Photo gallery,
Film credits,
Filmographies

I have been reading nothing but great reviews in the European press (and some poor local reviews) so I am very much looking forward to it. This film swept the Goya Awards in Spain this year by picking up Best Director (Iciar Bollain) Best Film, Best Lead Actor (Luis Tosar), Best Lead Actress (Laia Marull) Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress, Best Sound....absolutely ALL the top prizes in Spain. A number of other festivals also awarded the film: San Sebastian, Sant Jordi, The Spanish Actors Union Award...the list goes on and on.....

Here's the cover work-

Cheers,
Pro-B

Here's a short synopsis (basically some say that the film is a more mature take on the issues Lilja 4-Ever dealt with...domestic abuse...)...but you decide for yourself.....

pro-b,

once again you find what I want to see. Where do you find all these good films? What sites do you surf? The images you submitted with the post displays some excellent cinematography, the shots are warm, and personal, yet they show some disconnection. Oh well, I am reading into to it too much.

Cheers

I usually go through a number of sources, I read the European press. With this said I really dont have a list of sites that have the "magic info". Typically I would combine bits of information and post only the films that I have been looking forward to and now they have received a DVD release date...or the films that I want to see because I respect the actors/director so much that I need to see everything they make.

This probably does not make much sense to you but....that's the only way I could explain it.

I rented the DVD recently. Great picture and audio quality. English subtitles for the feature only. They're rather small, so you'd have trouble reading them on a 21-inch TV.

The extras are interesting (sorry no subtitles), especially the commentary and the deleted scenes. The excerpts from the Goya Award Ceremony are boring even if you speak Spanish.

As for the movie, it is excellent. It avoids the movie-of-the-week clichés and achieves a very bare yet profound outlook.

Saw this tonight at my local theatre and i was just blown away!!!

Very strong performances and one big emotional and shocking scene towards the end, which would grab the attention of the Academy, if it was an American film... Some Best Actress-style work here!
