I would say the Intervista dvd is a direct port from the Italian edition.

I am not aware whether or not this would be the case. However, a quick look at the review provided for the Italian version shows that your assumption is not likely to be true since the new French version is going to have French 5.1 and Italian 5.1 tracks whereas the old Italian version only boasts Italian 2.0.

It is most certain however that this disc will indeed be an improvement over the lousy disc that was available in R1.
