Crimson Rivers 2- The Angels of the Appocalypse

per DVDNET-

The sequel to Crimson Rivers with Jean Reno and Benoit Magimel has been set for a October 5 release. Similar to the recent Hi-Def treatment TAXI 3 received The Angels of the Apocalypse will be given a lavish treatment by Studio Canal:

two different versions-

a single disc with a DTS track and a making-of

and a double DVD set with a HD treatment, DTS, making-of's, trailers and much more.

Last but not least, though the final specs are yet to be confirmed I have a feeling that this SE of the film will not offer English subs. Stay tuned for more info.

Trailers to the film could be found here-

Damn, i hope this has subs, i loved the original and this one looks just as offbeat, I miss Cassel but the new guy was great in Nid De Guepes.

I've been meaning to look at the first part. I'll probably pick this one up. Although I'm not crazy about PAL, I'm French so no English subs isn't a problem. I hope another DVD comes out quickly after that one, though. It'd be nice to have an NTSC 2-disker.

Hell yeah, loved the 1st one, very taut, I recognize Cassel, and liked him in Brotherhood of the wolves, if one was to get into his work, where should he start?

And the easier to get (R1/R3) the better, thanks.

La Haine( )

L'Appartement ( ) !!!

DOBERMANN( )

Le Plaisir( )

Sur Mes Levres (great, great E.Devos)-

Irreversible ( )

I would avoid his North American "attempts".

I disagree. I'm a huge fan of his, & I think he is phenomenal in Elizabeth.

Although a small part, he is also good in The Messenger.

Well, I did say North American "attempts"

Birthday Girl- with Kidman (though not a big role)

Shrek- where only his voice was used but nevertheless I absolutely 100% disliked the film. I know that I am a minrotiy here but nevertheless...such films do not appeal to me.

As to the ones you pointed out-
I am having a hard time considering Elizabeth as being "north American" for obvious reasons.

Quite the same with The Messenger (even considering the extremely small part he had). This was a Besson project that I am having also a really difficult time regarding as north-American.

Clearly none of the films we mentioned above are among his best and strongest "attempts"

nemein, Columbia-Tristar released the first part. The second part should be released eventually. Trouble is, nobody knows when 'eventually' will be.

What harosa said... er, what he wanted to say... is true. La Haine does have a Korean release. However, I don't think it can be found. It came out a couple of years ago.

CRIMSON RIVERS 2 is awful!

Don't bother. It follows the same pattern as part 1 (exchange Cassell with Magimel, add a pale Christopher Lee) has an even worse plot and shows off Besson's fetish for extreme sports (Yamakasi, anyone?). Reno walks thru the 'story' like a living sleeping pill. Magimel tries hard but does not convince either. CR2 is boring and already on my worst-films-of-the-year (shit-)list.

I wonder when Besson gets off his ass and tries to direct a good film again instead of recycling stuff and putting them in his screenplays. TAXI 3 was awful, KISS OF THE DRAGON (based on an idea by Jet Li) was no revelation and I sure don't hope for fresh ideas in the american remake of TAXI.

Besson, as far as I heard, has announced clearly that he is not interested in directing movie anymore. He states that he will only direct 10 movies for all his life and no more. I never really count them so I don't know if he reach his limit but that for what i've heard.
Actually, hihi, I'm waiting patiently just to see if he can keep his words...

I dont know if I should trust this but...here you go...no subs ....and it looks like the perfect package...10/10 in the main categories.
