The problem with 'My Tutor Friend' is that the girl is ....

not that pretty. Not to mention the fact that the movie seemed cheezy all around and it's really trying to rip off My sassy girl.
Was this the same director? If so, shame on him/her. I didn't get past the first 30 minutes....

I think that was kindof the point. That because she was somewhat homely ("country chick"), she did not have enough confidence in herself to stand up to the guy and the bitchy girls. At least at first. Recall her fantasy sequences...the person she aspired to be.

Anyway, it wasn't a great movie by any means, but pleasant enough I thought.

I do agree there were cheezy moments, but even "My Sassy Girl" had a few of those. In fact, Korean comedies and light dramas are chock full of cheezy moments. It's part of the price of admission for these movies...
