IO? NO (Italy)- June 15

20th Century Fox hanve announced the release of the Italian production IO? NO. The dvd will offer English subs. For those unfamiliar with the film here's the extremely well made home site where you could see the trailer to the film as well as some additional info. www.iono.it

The reviews around the Italian press seem to be quite good. Example:

Cheers,

indeed, L'amore Eterno Finche Dura, nominated for 2 Italian oscars, is directed by famous actor/director Carlo Verdone.

one of the most striking situations when you are into an international forum is to see how things that in your country are well known as simply ******** elsewhere are considered examples of italian cinema. in a certain sense when you watch films like "io?no" and you think you are experiencing the best italian cinema it is the same situation when you walk into an italian restaurant in NYC and you think you are eatin' italian food
Rizzo&Tognazzi? forget about them!!!

Interesting!! I dont consider IO? NO as being indicative of quality Italian cinema, yet I think that from what I have seen so far I will enjoy it.

But you are correct, things look different when you consider the geographic location. For example I would not buy a film with Ice-T and keep it in my collection no matter what, yet you found it well worth it owning his R-Xmas in your collection.

I couldn't agree with you more, mdm 67, although the opposite applies to top 10 lists when critics almost always prefer the films from their respective countries first before the rest.

Pro-b, the example you gave isn't really a true indication of different perspective, it's more of your personal choice. I am sure Ice-T is not considered a good actor anywhere in the world

my dear pro-b
from my point of view 'r-xmas is an Abel Ferrara film, though many Americans ignore it, in Europe we consider Ferrara one of the most important US directors in the last 15 years ...
