Experiances with amazon.fr
Has anyone purchased DVD's from amazon.fr? How does it work? Do you give them an american credit card, and they ship it? Has anyone purchased anything from them, and how is shipping?

I've used amazonFR many times, and have only had good experiences (that is to Norway, but there's no reason service to the US should be any different; Shipping might be more expensive, though).
You can start with their English Help Page . As for making an account, if you already have one at any of the other Amazons (except the Japanese, because of different 'alphabet'), you can log on with the same email/password, and you'll find your details there. They share customer database. If you need to get in contact with them, they have an English-language email-adress : [email protected] (all non-English amazon sites have this as their English help mail: English@amazon.(de/fr/co.jp) . |
I ordered once and am planning to order again. Shipping ws really great.
I just logged in with my user/pass from Amazon.com and they had my CC info. No problem. |
never a problem during the years I've ordered from them...excellent service.

I have nothing but good things to say about them, shop w/out any worries.

Thanks! It looks like I will be buying from them.

I've ordered from amazon.jp, .fr, .de, .ca, and .co.uk (and the default .com); in general, the global amazon sites are great on service and shipping times - more so than amazon.com itself.

Do Amazon.com credit card cardholders receive 3 points per dollar at the Amazon International sites?

I've found all the Amazon sites I've used (I've bought from all except Japan) to be fine. Amazon France usually use a delivery method that I have to sign for on delivery, which helps packages from going astray.
I've always found Amazon.de to be fairly quick -- but then I'm in Europe, so perhaps they use a different delivery method (surface/sea mail?) from other EU e-tailers to ship stuff to North America. FWIW, stuff from Amazon US/Canada can be slow to get to Europe, so I guess it's a two-way thing... Dazza. |
I've bought 3 items from amazon.FR at various times. Two of them took more than a month to reach me, as they were obscure titles and they did not have them in stock - but the 3rd item arrived within a week of ordering it.
