Black Books season 2 - Manufacturing damage?

Hey all,
Been eagerly awaiting Black Books season 2, whish I had preordered at play.com. my disc finally arrived and I was so bummed when it froze in the first few minutes of play. Upon inspection of the disc, it clearly shows evidence of manufacturing defect.

So I returned it, no problem with play.com, and got a replacement. Same problem on this disc. stalls in the same spot, and upon inspection shows the same defect (very uneven surface area around the edges.

I'm reasonably sure they didnt just send back the same disc as they were both scrink wrapped.

Has anyone else had problems with theirs? I'm thinking of just getting a refund for this one.

Thanks!
Jim

When does this happen? At what scene?
I have my copy and noticed no problems

right at the begining of the first episode. I can scan the disc surface to show the damage i'm seeing. But if you look at the play side of the disc, and look at the outer edge of the digital information, its seems as though there is some sort of jagged edges. Both discs were exactly the same like that. I'll give it a scan, though I left the disc in my car. I'll do it in the morning.

I played the 1st episode "The entertainer" and it played as normal.
I purchased it Amazon- (I have both series 1 and 2) and have no problems with either.
I am sure you probably tried- but have you cleaned the player?
