THE UNINVITED (Korean Film) - 2 versions. Which one?
I want to get this rather recent Korean supernatural film. YesAsia.com lists two versions on DVD (1 a director's cut and 1 not):
Director's Cut http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.asp...ection-videos/ Theatrical Cut http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.asp...ection-videos/ Now, according to their site the director's cut runs 8 minutes shorter than the regular cut. Is this true or an error on their part? Secondly, the site also says the director's cut is anamorphic, while the regular cut is not? True? False? Hope someone can help me clear these two issues up as it'll be greatly appreciated. |
I have this one...

I have this one:
It looks like this one: Korean versions of their own movies tend to have pretty good specs (ie anamorphic widescreen), while HK versions tend to be hit or miss in specs depending on the company releasing it. Not sure why the movie lengths listed are different however. Could range from an actual difference to the wrong movie length being listed on one (or both) of the discs. If specs matter to you, I recommend (without consideration to the movie itself) just picking up the Korean version. |
Actually, they are both the same running time. The HK disc is non-anamorphic 1.85:1 and the Korean is anamorphic 2.35:1!
See here, The Uninvited |
Hmm... he's banned already after only 5 posts and signing up yesterday. Guess he was a returner. Anyway - if you come back and read this - I have the Korean DVD and it's really nice. I posted a review of it in one of my recent threads.
