For those of you who ordered from HMV, please tell me I'm not the only one to receive this email:

Thank you for visiting HMV.co.jp.

Your order#02787310 is ready to be shipped. However, final carriage is higher than the estimate.

Estimate :2300 (JAPANESE YEN)
Final :3600 (JAPANESE YEN)

If you wish to cancel your order, please let me
know. We will cancel your order and you will receive
the confirmation. If the final carriage is all
right, we will ship your order as soon as we
receive your e-mail. (no overseas shipping during
weekends & Japanese national holidays).

Please note, in the event we do not receive your reply within 7 days of this e-mail, this order will be canceled.

Yours sincerely,
HMV IFC
Now they raise the bloody shipping by around $12 right when it's about to ship!? This is the reason I cancelled my order with dvdslimited.com ...now HMV pulls the same damn thing.

in terms of shipping rate, amazon is much better
the rate is depended on number of items, not on weight
it's good to order boxset from amazon

This has also been reported in a Taiwanese forum. In their case, the shipping almost tripled (from 1500 Yen to 4368 Yen).

I got my email as well! 6:00am

Being sent via DHL Mail. I know it says 3-4 weeks....but in all honesty... if it IS in fact sent via DHL....I'll have it pretty quick. They are freaking fast!

Oh yeah, I was charged $60.17.

thanks for the heads up NJAL, I have the regular version preordered from Yesasia but I couldn't resist getting the boxset from Amazon. God I'm such a sucker. I ordered it this morning with express shipping for just over $69.00 with the 500 yen off coupon for first time buyers. that's pretty good I thought. certainly better than the $199.00 at Yesasia! it's expected to ship 4/16/04 with a delivery estimate of 4/18/04-4/21/04. Amazon must have received quite a few of these.

there are auctions on Ebay where the sellers have the box in hand and it does indeed seem that they have the suit rider.

WTF??? i got the same jacked-up shipping notification from hmv.jp this morning. ~$35 is way too much, and can't figure out now if i want to pay that much shipping.

i just went to amazon.jp and ordered one for less shipping. once i get their shipping notification, i'll cancel the hmv.jp order. screw their crazy shipping fees!!

Oh no here I go again. I used a prepaid mastercard for this order which is showing -$61.21 for my order at Amazon JP. However, I'm still showing shipping soon which probably means I want ever get it. I had this same problem with YesAsia.com where money was held for 2 weeks and then I get an email saying to phax all this crazy paper work in. I finally cancelled the order.

The only place that has ever accepted with no trouble has been Koreandvds.com. I was hoping that it was just YesAsia. However, It looks like prepaid credit cards are almost useless. I'll probably get my $61 back in about 2 months. LOL oh well no box set for me.

Did they give you a tracking number? I got one and it's now sitting at DHL waiting to be shipped out.

I got the EXACT same email with the EXACT same price icrease today, which I'm not very happy about. What's even more annoying, is it seems that if this increase didn't happen, the item would have shipped today, that is what I'm assuming. However, the email says they will wait to here from our response, to OK the shipping increase. Now this means, a delay in shipping, I sent my response immediately for them to go ahead & ship it, but who knows when they will actually check the email. I'm almost thinking of just cancelling my order, that is a lot for shipping, & with Tarantino pretty much confirming the uncut version will be released in the US eventualy this is a lot to spend just for some bells & whistles.

I ordered the day it was available to pre-order and mine is still "shipping soon". Doesn't look like they're sending them out on a first come first served basis.

Thanks Shiney. Maybe It will go thru without them sending me an email in Japanese asking me questions about what kind of card I'm using. That will be a mess for me.

Mine was shipped (says so on the site). I wouldn't worry about your card...you'll get your set.

And no, no tracking number but I did email them for one.
