I have been looking for word that this film had hit DVD for what seems like ages now. I kept missing opportunities to see it at film festivals here and there, and regretted it each time. So glad to hear it has English subs.

Don't confuse The Missing with Goodbye Dragon Inn. The Missing is also a great movie, but it was directed by lee kang-sheng who almost always plays the lead rules in Liang's movies & this is his first effort in directing a feature (He won three awards at Rotterdam film festival and one special award in Pusan FF).

An update for my previous post.
The Missing version at yes asia (and also at thedvddetective.com) is actually a double feature of both Goodby, Dragon Inn & The Missing!.

I recently recieved my order of this boxset which includes Goodbye Dragon Inn and The Missing. I have yet to watch The Missing but Goodbye Dragon Inn is by far the best film i've seen this year, Tsai Ming Liang has done it again.

I just recently missed the one and only DC screening of 'Goodbye Dragon Inn' at the Freer, guess I might as well buy the DVD - sigh....
