Does The Philips 727 do DTS?
Also, I've got my main DVD player wired to the DVD input on my amp via a digital coax cord, but only quickly threw on some RCA plugs from the Philips into the AUX input....any ideas for getting the most out of the Philips "audio-wise"? Split the coax? Help!
|
All you need is: connect 727 to the DVD input on your amp via a digital coax cord.
Then go to system menu, digital audio setup , set digital output to all |
Hmmm...Is there usually more than one digital input? I seem to remember only one!
|
Get a switch if you don't have more inputs on the receiver. Surprisingly, any mechanical switch with RCA jacks should be pretty good. They start around $15, I think. Just ignore all the other connections.

An RCA switch box won't help him pass digital input signals though.
I take it since it's an amp and not a receiver there's no optical input either? |
Yes it will. Digital coax uses RCA connectors.
|
A "digital coax" cable is just a standard 75 ohm RCA cable (the yellow "video" one). An RCA switch-box will work fine. So will a simple Y-connector, for that matter.

Quite right, I wasn't really thinking when I replied above.
