R3 Scream review?
 

I have been looking for an anamorphic version of Scream. Japan has one, but a little pricey. Korea has a region free anamorphic disc though.

I am looking for someone who has this disc and can tell me how the pic and sound quality are?

I have the R3 korean release. I got it from Korean DVDs.


In a word... Terrible. Lots of shimmer and crawlies everywhere. Looks like either a PAL convert or and upconvert from a non anamorphic master. I can't even say that it is better that the non-anamorphic US release zoomed.

PS. I watch on a 56" widescreen toshiba.

I also have a German PAL anamorphic copy that is better but not perfect.

Miramax needs to redo this one in a major way. They have had multiple oportunities.

Wow that absolutely sucks. I was interested in this release as well.

Does anyone have the Japan Region 2 disc then?

Is that one any better?

This one is anamorphic and uncut. It looks pretty good to me but I've heard the French and Australian releases are good too.
