Which Brazil is the best one to get?

I searched here, HTF, rewind, dvdbeaver and found that only the R4 Brazilian version is 142 minutes, NTSC and 16X9 enhenced

But I also found that R3 Korean version is 142 minutes and 16X9 enhenced,

Can someone confirm?

There's also a 16X9 NTSC version available in R2 Japan.

Always, there's this danger I first heard of last month, about an unrelated title.

"Titles produced in Korea are subject to government censorship when it involves nudity and violence. Although the censorship has been lessened over the years, frontal nudity and extreme violence(although rare) are forbidden."

Who knows what the censors might do to any film... If you can afford it, get the CC version. Non Anamorphics, but a boxed set to kill for. Great extras!

Thanks for your info, but I would rather get a reasonably priced version with good video performance... I don't really watch extras

So that rules out the CC and the Japanese version...

there's a comparison of the multiple versions of Brazil at . And the overall winner for PQ and SQ is the Brazilian R4 version if I'm not mistaken. It's pretty cheap too.

Chucky7 points out in his original post that he has already been to the comparisoin websites, so chance are good that he has seen that report, AlexBC...

We could all get lucky and have this newest disc compared alongside the others at the Beaver! Or we could wait until chucky7 gets his copy and gives us a rundown?

I'd spring for a pristine Brazil. (But those extras are REALLY interesting, guy. If EVER you should see a documentary, this is the set!!! Don't believe me, read the review posted right here at DVDTalk - )

The Korean and Brazilian discs are identical. They are both the same anamorphic transfer released from 20th Century Fox. If you just want the movie in the best possible presentation, then I'd go with either of those.

The Korean disc can be found here:

I've got an extra sealed copy of the Korean release that I picked up for a friend that decided he didn't want it just in case anyone is interested. I'll sell it for the same price $19, shipping included.

As for the Criterion, those supplements are well worth having. The documentary is fascinating and the "Love Conquers All" cut is cool too. But for watching the film, the Korean/Brazilian releases are the way to go.
