New Appleseed and Ghost in the Shell projects on DVD?

Hey ya'll,
I remember hearing about these not too long ago, does anyone know if a non-region 1 release is upcoming or at least been announced yet? I know the GITS franchise has a new tv series (Stand Alone Complex) and sequel to the first film (Innocence), and that a new Appleseed film was released in Japan. Has there been any DVD news on either of the three?

Thanx.

I know that you can get 'Stand Alone Complex' in Japan, but not sure about the rest. I am waiting for a cheaper alternative on that series.

Neither Innocence nor Appleseed is out in Japan yet ... so far, just trailers for the two. Both are due out this year, though.

The appleseed trailer blew me away when I got to see it. Innocence will indeed be out later. As for the SAC.. it was alright. I didn't care much for it but then again I wasn't the biggest fan of GITS to begin with. it should be hitting R1 sometime this year.

You can get the new Ghost in the Shell limited edition at Amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/...296988-4555465

Innocence just opened yesterday (Mar 6th). There's heavy advertisement (posters in train stations, even seen a few commercials on TV). Looks like I may have to check this out before I head back to the States.

Love the case on that SE of 'Ghost in the Shell' any reviews of it up?

Also, I have had the opporunity to view some episodes of Stand Alone Complex and I personally really enjoyed the series. Can't wait for it to make it over this way... I remember reading somewhere that Cartoon Network will be hosting it as part of their Adult Swim.

Whats the quality of those discs being sold at hkdvdstore? Specifically, the Stand Alone Complex discs. V.2 and 3 seem to pack alot of eps. into one disc.

They're bootlegs. There are no legit Stand Alone Complex DVDs with English subtitles.

The real deals come out in the U.S. this summer.
