Well, it happened with Terminator UE DTS that was supposed to be limited but is available at yesasia.com right now.

I saw plenty of people selling this on various British sites for $80-90 easy several months ago.

I am sure there is a chance, as has been the case with a lot of Japanese boxset releases, a Korean distribution company will market a "just as sweet" set.l

Did anyone that pre ordered this last Friday get a cancellation e-mail? I ordered it late Friday from Amazon, but it looks like I'm safe.

For those that did get their orders cancelled; what day did you order the boxset?

I'm wondering if anyone that pre-ordered from Yesasia got their orders cancelled. If so did they e-mail you guys back to give you a chance to order it again before the price went up?

I emailed hmv to make sure that if I ordered it before it sold out, that I am guaranteed my copy, but I haven't heard back yet.

I ordered mine from amazon on Saturday morning, but so far, so good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'll be worrying about the damn thing until its actually in my hands come April.

Speaking of the guy selling these on ebay, he is breaking a rule regarding selling pre-sale items. According to ebay policies:

"eBay does permit pre-sales on a limited basis, as long as the seller guarantees that the item will be available for shipping within 30 days from the date of purchase (i.e., the day the listing ends or the date the item is purchased from a store front listing)."

The middle of April is more than 30 days away. At any rate, he would have some pretty irate customers if some of his preorders are cancelled.

I am not hooked up with R0/NTSC dvd player & am planning to order the regular release of Kill Bill since it is the more affordable of the two.

Also I doubt the uncensored version will see the light of day in the U.S.,if it has'nt been debated already(I didn't read the whole thread). Miramax won't release anything unrated, not even in seemless branching versions with the rated cut!

Unless Tarantino can really work his magic & convince them to grow some balls & release it uncut,or both versions in the 'ultimate' set. I don't think it will see the light of day in the U.S. anytime soon.

I am assuming that both the limited & regular japanese release will be uncut, can anyone confirm this for me.
Thanks.

I am 99.9% sure that the Japanese DVD would contain the Japanese theatrical cut of the film (House of Blue Leaves fight scene entirely in colour, and other bits of extra gore scenes here and there). I am in no official position to confirm this, but it would just be highly unlikely and strange if this were not the case.
And the limited and regular Japanese releases will contain the exact same DVD (its the extra non DVD goodies that make the limited release unique).

Everytime I see these posts, it just makes me more & more happy paying $84 for the set, which at the time I thought was outrageous, but it makes me more & more nervous with my luck my pre-order will be cancelled.

Getting your salad tossed is getting your ass-hole eaten out with jelly or syrup, I prefer syrup!

At these runaway prices, I'll be seriously pissed if Amazon cancels my pre-order.

Like I said earlier in the thread regarding the Terminator UE DTS, there is a good chance of this being re-released about 3 or 4 months after its inital release.

I don't think Amazon will cancel preorders (although it is in the back of my mind). They're making 30000 of them, and I imagine Amazon will get more than enough of them, if only because they are a large retailer. If you translate the message they have on their site now it's basically something to the effect of being sold out of their stock, and that they are trying to allocate more units. I think if you've preordered by now you'll be fine. At least I hope

Does anybody know if there will be an uncut release with English subs just for the Japanese parts? If not, where is the best and/or cheapest place to order the R2? I'm not really interested in the boxset (especially since its sold out and going for ridiculous prices), but I would like to get the dvd. Any help is much appreciated!

The cheapest place to order the R2J Kill Bill dvd would probably be at amazon.co.jp:
http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/...141394-2037143
To order, start with putting it in your cart (like any amazon), then press account, under Account Settings/Personal Information press "Set you language preferences" to English.
Press "View Cart", fill in email adress/new customer, on next page, press "Enter Int'l Adress" upper right.
Fill in personal details.

OK, I got an email from Amazon.jp yesterday that is all in Japanese and I have no idea what it says.

From the link it appears to be an ad for Panic Room SE, but I just want to make sure that this is not some kind of cancellation notice if anybody else who understands the message got it --

I recieved that also. It looks to just be an ad for coming soon titles. I would not worry.

Got the same message. I used the above link to translate it. It was just an advertisement for products.
