Are you just going by the info provided Pro-b or do you have other confirmations?

I got my copy today and I can confirm that the disc DOES include English subtitles. I haven't checked to see if the bonus features are subtitled.

please tell us what the transfer is like as well. If you could pay special attention whether or not this appears to be a NTSC port of the French PAL disc and post your comments I would appreciate it.

The extras are not subtitled.

I'm really not good at judging the quality of transfers. Unless the film looks like a complete blurry mess, I generally can't tell if it's a good transfer or not. For example, I love my Canadian copy of Francois Ozon's 8 Femmes that was released by Seville. I thought the picture quality was great until I started reading reviews of the disc that said the transfer was absolutely horrible. So now I'm watching the film trying to find out what's wrong with it and I still can't tell.

So anyway, I watched a little of Fanfan la Tulipe and the picture, to me, looks good. I wouldn't know a PAL-port unless someone pointed it out to me.

By the way, I took your advice Pro-B and ordered the French release of La Vie Promise instead of getting the Seville release. I've become all paranoid about PAL ports now.

Anyone still interested in picking up this DVD might want to check out DVDSoon. They've got the English-subbed Canadian release selling for $6.98 CAD (approx. $5.80 U.S. and free shipping). The DVD does seem to be back-ordered however, but if you're willing to wait seems like a good deal.
