Korean Abyss SE 2 Disc

KoreanDVDS is advertising this as an anamorphic transfer. I would say buy with caution. Most likely it isn't. Just a heads up. I think emailing them or posting on their freeboard would be the smart thing before pre-ordering or purchasing.

They had reported that Chaplin with Robert Downy Jr. was anamorphic but was not.

I found that out the hard way. All the others I ordered were anamorphic as advertised.

Congo
Rising Sun
Great Expectations
Scream

But the image has a big 'ol 'anamorphic widescreen' sticker on it. Just like 'Big' and the other Fox titles have. All of those I bought were indeed anamorphic.

yes, indeed...I see this...and as Bill said....not sure what to think about this....bottom line- Koreandvds are quite inconsistent with their technical info.

ps
I just confirmed that this film is non-anamorphic tough you could clearly see that it says-16/9.

Given the fact that many Korean releases are direct ports of their major studio distributors I will pass on this one....too much risk in my view.

In my opinion, if you order it and it's not anamorphic, they should take the return and pay for the return shipping. Otherwise, it's false advertising. I'd email them and see.

They will take it back. They did that for me with Evita, which they still list as 16:9.

Go on order it someone.
I have been asking this question on many forums for months, and no one has gone and orderd it to find out yet. I would definatly get it in a heartbeat if it was.

I wouldn't risk it. I ordered "The Recruit" from them and although the box says 2.35:1, it is not. They said i could return it and they would give me credit towards other DVD's. I have returned it...about 3 weeks ago and they STILL haven't received it.

I think i'm going to have to eat the around $30 it cost to buy the DVD, have it shipped and ship it back. They barely respond to emails. I dunno if I'll ever use them again.

It is not anamorphic. I remember asking Mr. Kwang about this one time.
