Classic American Film Noir on French DVD

For those of you who dig classic film noir (1940-1960), the French are doing a great job of putting stuff out that American film studios are too scared to touch cause they won't make any bread. Available now on Region 2 DVD from France are the following titles:

Macao
Murder My Sweet
Angel Face
Narrow Margin
Out of the Past

E-mail me and I'll tell you how to get em, if you don't already know. Cheers!

How is the Macao? I thought about ordering this but wasn't sure if it was up to snuff.

the film quality of Macao is fine, but personally I thought it was a pretty weak movie. for Mitchum stuff, if I were you, I would stick with Out of the Past and Angel Face.

I got my copy of MURDER MY SWEET (ADIEU MA JOLIE) from France yesterday. Very nifty transfer...I was totally delighted and the subtitles are not burned in...go for it!

Too bad Angel Face, Narrow Margin and Out of the Past are sold out at Amazon.fr so i ordered just Murder my Sweet (Finnish disc has burned in subtitles). Any other places to found those other ones?

Try Alapage.com

I was just on their website and those titles are in stock. You'll need the french names to find them...or do an advance search with Robert Mitchum.

Here's the link for Narrow Margin
