Fassbinder DVD : German or US edition ?

I like to buy some fassbinder dvd but not sure whether to buy the german or US Wellspring version.

Which version is better in prints and extras ? Are they using the same prints ?

Any website that compare both versions of the same film ?

None of the German Fassbinders have subtitles for the extras from what I understand. The main feature is subtitled, however. The Wellspring releases not only use the same prints but also the same transfers, meaning that they're PAL-to-NTSC conversions and not native PAL transfers (alas).
