Does Anyone Know If The Vidocq Movie Has Been Released on DVD?

Anybody have an answer on this? I'm just getting into DVDs from regions other than one and would like to buy a copy of this movie if it exists on DVD.

Any help would be appreciated.

It has been released on R2 and R3. DDDhouse stock the R3 version for a bargain price of 35 HK$ = approx 5 US$.

R3 is 4:3. French R2 version is the best one:

An excellent movie.

According to VideoFlicks.com, the Region 1 Canadian release is Anamorphic Widescreen with optional English Subtitles, Director's Commentary, "Making Of..." Documentary and a Special Effects Documentary. It doesn't say whether the special features are in English or have English subs.

There are a couple of different French releases available - the 2-disc release, which appeared first (English subs on movie, but not on extras):

http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005OL31/

...and subsequently a cheaper, 1-disc edition (w/ English subs on movie) was issued:

http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00007LUU9/

I'd recommend the latter edition to those who don't understand French and therefore don't want to pay for a 2nd disc of material that they can't understand.

Dazza.
