Which is Better? Toshiba SD-3900-A, B, C, etc.?
Some people seem to have 100% success with the Toshiba SD-3900 multiregion hack. Others like myself have a few nagging disks that won't play no matter what.
The serial number on my player lists it as C, ie. SD-3900C. If you have this DVD player can you please post what serial number you have, and if you have any problems decoding 100% of your PAL discs. I am considering returning my player and trying to get my hands on a player from a different shipment, if I can determine that there are other serial numbers that work more consistently. Thanks. |
I don't think anyone has done any kind of comparison on the model #'s, and I don't think it runs A, B, C, D, etc.. I got mine when it was very first released through the mail before it showed up to Target, Best Buy, etc.. and mine's a U model. No problems with the U model as far as playing any of the region discs I've tried.
Perhaps a better way to look at this is by the manufacture date, which should be on the back of the player. After checking the back panel I don't see anything that doesn't make me the the U I have stands for anything other than an identifier as a US Model. |
