Enough already,,,how many Evil Dead's do we need?

From Bloody-Disgusting.com:

If 40 different versions weren't enough for you collectors and the "Boomstick Editon" wasnt good enough for you, then hopefully you have a region 2 DVD player. If you do, the R2 Project has some news for you. On the 28th of July Anchor Bay will release the Evil Dead trilogy as a box set priced at £29.99.Click HERE to take a look at the artwork.

Who is winning now? Halloween or Evil Dead?

Packaging is pretty sweet, but I think I'll pass. I already have at least 3 copies of each Evil Dead movie aas it is, plus it will cost a lot to get it shipped to the U.S. I have a dvd player that will play any region though.

I think each region should have a minimum of 5 versions of ED to call their very own

Raimi will NEVER have to make a movie again. He could simply live off the royalties from this film forever.

Since Anchor Bay is rapidly running out of good movie to put out, I have a feeling we'll be seeing lots more of these re-re-re-releases.

If this comes to R1 I'll pick it up. I've been waiting for a box set for these.

The title on the DVD speaks for itself. EVIL DEAD can never die! They are releasing this over and over again simply because they are nothing but EVIL! DEAD EVIL! EVIL DEAD!

instead of spending money on making a bunch of different Evil Dead dvds they need to just buy the rights to The Monster Squad.........then release it to those who want to buy it (everybody)

I beg to differ. Anchor Bay still consistantly puts out great DVDs of great movies month after month. They have many smaller DVD labels in the dust with their great transfers. I still buy many Anchor Bay dvd month after month, so I see that they will most certainly not run out of products yet.

I have

Book of The Dead (Evil Dead) - AB R1
Evil Dead 2 - (The newest one) - AB R1
Army of Darkness - MGM R3

I ain't getting no other version ever ever again... Unless some big promotional thing takes over my head when they put out the high-def six pack DVD with lifesize ash blow-up doll in it.

Does anyone know what versions are included in this box? It's obviously 4 discs from the pictures.. It looks like a nice set, and I would sell my other copies off if these are pretty much the same versions.

Thanks, Shagrath

Awww, geez. You've got to be kidding me. Maybe I should just sell all my previous Evil Dead DVDs right now and hope it brings me the 50 bucks or so this will probably cost to get over here.

I would hold off. AB are masters of marketing. Remember when they did that *ahem* limited run *ahem* of the 3 Disc R1 Suspirias? Then... pressed a few more 10,000 in Canada later on...

I remember selling my gold cased director's cut (numbered) of Army of Darkness for less than I paid for it since it was two versions obsolete by the time the SUPERIOR R3 MGM DVD came out.

Arrrrrrgggggghh

I just pre-ordered from Blackstar.uk, and the final price was 28.39 EURO. I checked the conversion since I'm in America, and it was only about $33.00 dollars shipped. Not too bad at all.

Yup. The UK has not moved to the Euro system and still uses British Pounds. Blackstar's price before shipping is £25.99. This equals over $43 USD. If £28.39 was the price you paid with shipping, your final cost was was about $47.36. You just paid a bunch more than you thought, Adiras.
