Ahh yes...I bought The Transporter just because she was in it.

Maybe a year to a year and a half ago, I got an email from Columbia/Tri Star about an upcoming movie with Shu Qi and Ziyi Zhang. It would seem to me this ended up being So Close. Was Ziyi Zhang ever part of this production early on, or was I just dreaming?

BTW, anyone know if So Close is getting an R1 DVD release? I want to pick up the R3 release but since my Apex doesn't render anamorphic images properly, I'd hate to sit through the whole film watcing a scrunched Shu Qi...

I remember Zhang Ziyi being originally cast, too, but Vicky Zhao Wei ended up representing the mainland.

Since it's Columbia, I'd expect an R1 disc eventually.

Dleedlee is right, just saw this and its a Columbia/Tri Star release, XXX trailers and all so expect a US release ala' Time and Tide. So Close is alot of fun and the action is very good with alot of nice new inventive uses for CG effects. I just rewatched Transporter on DVD and she was not as irritating to me a second time as she was the first.

I'm glad that Zhang Ziyi wasn't in that movie. I absolutely cannot stand her.
