Yes...looking forward to 'The Ring' Hi-Bit edition and the remastered Neon Genesis Evangelion boxset....also the Shinya Tsukamoto boxset which is due soon and i'm still trying to find chance to obtain the Mamoru Oshii boxset of 3 of his early live action films.

You can check out cdjapan.co.jp or hmv.co.jp for more information on its specs. I am sure quite a few of them have the english subs or the english audio.

9 times out of 10, any Japan DVDs I want, don't have English subs (but then again, why would they have to? It's Japan)

Its probably a good thing for that. Otherwise I might be seriously tempted to spend over 400.00 on that cool Mazinger Z box set.

And if the Akira Kurosawa box sets had English subs, I'd be spending close to $1000 to get those. Waiting for Criterion to release them all is killing me!

The Japanese certainly have some impressive boxsets/limited editions....unfortunately you almost need to take out a second mortgage to purchase them and when they list items as 'limited editions' they truly are in that they quite often go OOP in a short space of time.
Would also love to pick up those Kurosawa sets and would have liked to have gotten those Ray Harryhausen boxsets

The Kurosawa sets are well worth the money if you have HTPC. Stunning transfers (superior to Criterion even), gorgeous packaging. They are like treasure.
A group of people from the various DVD forums have been working together to create subtitle scripts for each and every film in the 3 Masterworks box sets.
Since they are limited, get them while you can!

snowchasse, don't tempt me!

Anyway, my HT and PC are on opposite sides of the house, so it'd never work anyway.
