Gance's Napoleon
 

I see there's a Region 4 DVD of Abel Gance's Napoleon due out April 16 in Australia. Anyone have any advance info on this edition or thoughts as to what the quality's likely to be like? (I've personally found that image quality on all too many Australian DVDs has been pretty disappointing.)
For that matter, is this film available on DVD anywhere else in the world?

OH ****!!! Sweet, I've been waiting sooooo long for this to come out on DVD! It looks like it comes with the Carmine Coppola score that Coppola's company American Zoetrope put it out on VHS several years ago...

BUT, it apparently isn't the new 5 hour + cut that was restored a few years ago, almost bringing the film to it's original 6 hour length.

What's the best Aussie Online store to order from these days, just in case I might want to order this title?

Has anyone seen this yet? I'm really curious how they translated the switch from the single screen image to the 3-screen image onto the DVD. (I saw this film at the Fox Theater in Oakland, and the SF Opera House, both accompanyed by a pit orchestra conducted by Carmine Coppola. Quite an event!)

....and anyone know if/when it will be coming to Region 1?
