K. Kurosawa Box Set

I was looking into buying the Japanese R2 Kairo (Pulse) DVD and found this on amazon.co.jp.

After running the page through altaVista's Babelfish, I determined it was a box set of 5 Kiyoshi Kurosawa DVD's. Four movies and one bonus disk (I think?). Other than that, I don't know.

I tried searches here and on Google with no luck. Anyone out there have info on this? What movies are included? What extras on bonus disk? English subs? Video/Audio quality? Etc, etc....

According to the specs listed it looks like it's a Japanese only (Dolby 2.0) language release. No mention of subtitles of any kind.

It's 4 movies and making of on a bonus disc for a total of 5 discs in the set.

You can check out the info in English at cdjapan.co.jp
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=TDBD-2007

It lists optional English subtitles but I recommend emailing CD Japan first and confirm this.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the link. I'll definitely email cdjapan about this set. Looks like English subs on just two of the discs, though.

But, now I'm confused. The "Kiyoshi Kurosawa DVD-BOX [PULSE]" has five DVD's! But none of them are of the movie "PULSE"?

1 Cure (1997)
2 Ningen gokaku (License to Live, 1999)
3 Kumo no hitomi (Eyes of the Spider, 1998)
4 Hebi no michi (Serpent's Path, 1997)
5 Extra disc containing the making of "Kairo", interview, trailers

Why would they not include the movie they named the box set after? Is this normal for Japanese box sets?

Don't know enough about the director or the box set to answer that. Sorry.
But after almost 10 years here it wouldn't surprise me. One of the first things I learned was never ask "Why?"
