Given Japan's 32,000 suicides per year, and a shut-in ("“hikikomori”) population of 1.2 million young people, it's no wonder that films about disaffected youth such as Suicide Circle, All About Lilly Chou Chou, Blue Spring, and All Night Long are so popular there.
