The Snapper was a fun movie...it was nice to see Colm Meaney in a lead role.
Look also for The General, directed by John Boorman and starring Brendan Gleeson. The story of notorious Irish thief Martin Cahill.

Hari, I appreciate your post, but I've seen it, years ago.
The ones I've posted above are DVDs I haven't been able to find anywhere.
I add War Of The Buttons to that list, and The Butcher Boy.

Pogue Mahone concert from the Pogues would just be fine, for those of you that don't know Gaelic Pogue Mahone is Kiss my A** it was a album the pogues released a few years ago. I would like to see a concert on Irish singer, writer and director Loreena McKenna who wrote and sang the music for erotic murder mystery "Jade" 1995 with David Caruso. She was so go good just like Enya, and her series of irish folk. Enya wore long dresses like Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac.

Loreena McKennitt is Canadian, not Irish, and she's sang and performed on far more more soundtracks than Jade's.
"Kiss My Ass", translated to Irish, is actually "Póg Mo Thón". Shane McGowan wanted to name the band after that particular phrase but there was the fear that Record Stores would not carry a title with "Kiss My Ass" written on it.

Can you give me more info on this?
What's it about ( apart from family )?
Who's in it?
Miniseries? For RTE? Or, British Television?
Maybe it's something I'd be interested in.
Thanks

Gladly, Smokey.
Family @ IMDb
Family was a four part miniseries written by omnipresent-in-Irish-controversy Roddy Doyle, and was directed by Michael Winterbottom. It follows the breakdown of an inner-city Dublin family, each episode somewhat centering on one of the family members.
IMDb could fill you on anything else I could tell you. The series was a big controversy in its time, and there could be a DVD release since it was co-financed by BBC - after all, Traffik, I, Claudius and a good few other short series have seen DVD releases worldwide. Family isn't really star-studded, but it does have a lot of the finer actors working in Ireland at the time, with a few faces you'd recognize.
(Sean McGinley also played the amoral father of Neilí Conroy's character in The General... are there more than eight actors in Ireland, because they all seem to be the same ones over and over!)

Hopefully it will be released on DVD
