Awesome DVD Player...

Hey all...

I am cinsidering upgrading My Toshiba 4700 (nice player, but has chroma bug and mp3 playback bug) to a Panasonic DVD-RP82. I was also considering a region free/code free/NTSC<>PAL player. And then.... I came across this MONSTER:

since i cant post the long link here, just go to Amazon.com and search for "Panasonic DVD-RP82 Code Free Player with macro-off"

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Matt

...you mean this here <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00006ANXS/qid=1032276641/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/104-0052128-1074351?v=glance&s=electronics&n=507846">thingy</a>...?... better description <a href="http://www.videodirect.com/panasonic/dvd/dvd-rp82.html?source=dov">here</a>...
...and <a href="http://www.prodcat.panasonic.com/shop/NewDesign/ModelTemplate.asp?ModelId=15739&show_all=false&product_exists=True&active=1&ModelNo=DVD-RP82&CategoryId=">here</a>...

...a player that seems to want to be all things to all people...

...I see it has built-in DD 5.1 and DTS decoders (superfluous IMNSHO) ... I don't see any mention of this player being 'code-free' or that it is able to convert PAL to NTSC, or that it bypasses Macrovision... yes...?... no...?...

. . . :o . . .

Hello..

No, that one is the regular edition. Someone seems to have altered a bunch and is selling them. Search amazon.com for the following phrase:

"Panasonic DVD-RP82 Code Free Player with macro-off"

You get hits under the Z-Shops section, then you will see what i mean.... I would post the direct link, but dvdtalk trunkates it...

Thanks,

matt

Get a multi-region JVC, then your problems will be over. If you search you'll see that there is no threads about problems with JVCs.
